Quinoa Beet Burgers and Kale Chips Need to Know’s:

  1. The Kale Chips could be done in an fryer instead of the oven.

  2. Raw Onions, Heirloom Tomatoes, Pickles, and a slice of Pepperjack Cheese are great additional burger toppings.

  3. If you can’t find hemp powder an all natural flour (Bob’s Red Mill is a good option) or Almond Flour are solid alternatives.

  4. The beet stems if in season can be chopped and sautéed with salt and pepper and covered in oil for a great side salad! The beet stems and beet leaves will go bad and wilt (just like any other leaves) but they are YUMMY!

  5. Too much egg and the burgers won’t hold together, be careful!

Who is this recipe for?

  1. Those craving a burger but want a veggie style option.

  2. A great first attempt at eating a veggie burger with only real ingredients. (Some of the substitute meat products aren’t always good for you.)

  3. Getting kale into your stomach in a tasty way! (I have been told by many that they don’t like the taste.) Here’s a fun option for it.

Beet Burgers and Kale Chips have become a staple for me. I grew up thinking burgers had to have meat and were only served with fast food french fries. To me this meal satisfies the taste buds of the “burgers and fries” but let’s you eat clean and healthy while doing it. It’s not a replacement to burgers but rather an addition or a different way to concoct them!
