Destress Meditation Series

Meditation practice before guiding a yoga class at awaken yoga.

In this four part video meditation series we guide and breathe through four different practices designed to destress you and calm your mind. These meditations and breathing practices can be used daily and when you are stressed and even when you are at ease! In Sanskrit the word Pranayama translates in English basically into the word Breath.

What is the point of meditation?

  1. Meditation calms the mind.

  2. Meditation allows us to breathe deeper and into our body.

  3. Meditation allows us to shed armor and baggage we carry around.

  4. Meditation reduces anxiety.

  5. A daily meditation practice has made me more present in my life and grounded in my decision making and interactions with other humans.

Who is Meditation for?

  1. Everyone!

  2. Everyone :)!

What is the focus of the four part destress meditation and pranayama series below?

I did these videos for the Community Development for All People in Central Ohio. People tend to be very stressed and anxious leading up to the holiday season and new calendar year. (December into early January.) Their community is often loaded with busy schedules during this time of year with minimal allowance to do something for themselves. (Like a meditation series.)

It seems that (for many people) the joy the holidays have the potential to bring wind up actually causing to feel stressed, busy, and anxious. My goal was to create four short videos with breathing practices and breath-work that enable you to stop at any moment during the holiday season (or any other time of year) and destress.

Meditation even at a radio station? Yes!

These pranayama meditations can be done as guided versions by following the videos along with me. Or watching one and taking a piece of breath-work from it to use when you are able. Or to destress and use when you feel that anxiety or blood pressure rising!

The four videos are below and I hope you enjoy (excuse the vertical shot we originally used them for mobile video device watching.

To your health and well-being,
Mike
