Volunteer Projects THINKTANK: Phase Four

For the first three phases of the Volunteer Project THINKTANK head HERE.

Phase four is about creating accountability and a roadmap for you and your team as you volunteer on a project or for an organization.

To have great success on a project that you are volunteering on, to get results for the organization, and to feel personally fulfilled from the work you are doing you get to go all in when it comes to volunteering.

Often it seems people feel they are forced to volunteer so they do it.

Has that ever come up for you?  Or do you know someone else who has done because they feel “it’s the right thing to do?”

Volunteering should not be forced.  To be honest it’s one of the key components in the Secret Society but it’s all a choice.

Volunteering should also have accountability and responsibility for your role.

Over the past four weeks I have worked with the ten members of my Team Retention Sub Committee, the Walk Director, and the Co Chair at the association to create an accountability roadmap for both myself and my team leading up to the Walk in September.

They range from phone calls to emails to hand written thank you cards to physical location work both at the association and other events.

I am holding myself accountable and each member of my team responsible.  It’s my vision that we execute this roadmap and give this event the best chance possible to achieve its goals of helping find the first survivor of this disease.

Think about that for a moment.  There are no survivors for Alzheimer’s.  It’s a death sentence and the 6th leading cause of death in the country.  It happens to people much younger each year (40 and 50 year olds are getting it.)

But it’s also not just Alzheimer’s.  There are hundreds of other important causes out there that have the same detrimental ramifications associated with them should solutions not be found.

That’s why volunteering should be taken with an ALL IN mindset.  To hold yourself accountable and your team.

This one day event on September 24th is a year long planning process and we now have a roadmap to have our team do as much as we can between now and that day.

Why should you consider being this serious when it comes to how you volunteer and the way in which you treat it?

What does this have to do with marketing or building your own business?

We have a saying at Next Level ColumbusThe way you do anything is the way you do everything!

If you can’t volunteer with accountability, integrity, and passion then you can’t also expect yourself to do the same for your own business.

Do you have any other questions about my role that might help you gain some clarity on how to lead and work with a team for a volunteering cause?

Email me at mike@MarketingFunWithMike.com to ask me any questions about my volunteering history, your comments and experiences, and any other ways in which I can help you build something special through this THINKTANK.  It’s happening in order to support you and to help you create something impactful in this world that you also enjoy doing.
